The Awards Gala, hosted by "Entertainment Tonight's" Mary Hart, will jumpstart the fest, which runs Jan. 6-19.
Hathaway stars in "Rachel Getting Married" and makes an appearance in Sony Pictures' "Passengers." Her upcoming film, "Bride Wars" with Kate Hudson, is due in January, and she is filming "Alice in Wonderland" with Johnny Depp.
Previous recipients of the Desert Palm Achievement Award include Charlize Theron, Halle Berry and Kate Winslet.
