BFS takes 'Race' in U.S.

Andre F. Nebe film stars Colm Meaney

LONDON — High Point Films has pre-sold North American rights on debut helmer Andre F. Nebe’s “The Race” to BFS Entertainment.

Pic, which stars Colm Meaney, Susan Lynch and newcomer Niamh McGirr, tells the story of an 11-year-old girl from a poor rural community who dreams of becoming a racing driver.

Michael Garland is producing for Irish shingle Grand Pictures.

Pic is in post-production and will be ready in time for Cannes next year.
