Emmett/Furla gets 'Brutal'

Mills action/thriller spec to shoot next year

Emmett/Furla Films has acquired "Brutal," an action/thriller spec by Jonathan W. C. Mills that is being fast tracked to shoot early next year in Louisiana, with Mills directing.

Randall Emmett, George Furla, Katie Chonacas and Laura Rister will produce.

Pic is a morality tale set in the world of outlaw bikers in suburban America.

Mills recently set up another spec, "Inside Passage," at Gold Circle Films, which Rister is also producing.

Purchase was made with coin provided by executive producer Sefton Fincham.

Fincham will partly finance the film for Emmett/Furla, which has a longstanding relationship with Millennium Films. The producers most recently made "Righteous Kill" and recently wrapped production on the Werner Herzog-directed Nicolas Cage-starrer "Bad Lieutenant."
