E! has greenlit a reality-competition series pitting party planners in a contest to see who can throw the biggest celeb bash on the Mexican Riviera.

Set to launch at 10 p.m. Dec. 2, "Party Monsters: Cabo" will transport nine party pros to the exclusive LG Villa oceanfront resort, then give them 24 hours each week to put together festivities for such bold-faced names as Sean Combs, Carmen Electra and Lil Jon.

One planner will be eliminated each episode (money line: "The party is over"), and the last one standing will win an event-planner gig at the resort. A celeb guest will serve as judge for each show. Michele Merkin will host, along with "inhouse expert" Brian Worely.

Weekly hourlong series is being produced for E! by 3 Ball Prods. ("The Biggest Loser," "Beauty and the Geek") in conjunction with Bischoff-Hervey Entertainment ("Scott Baio Is 45 and Single"). E! has commissioned eight episodes to kick things off.
