David Faustino, who co-starred in Sony-produced Fox hit "Married… with Children," has cut a deal for an original web series to be produced for Sony’s Crackle.com Internet vid site.
Series dubbed "Star-ving" is described as being based on an exaggerated version of Faustino’s life. Skein finds him running a struggling porn shop that was willed to him by a fan. After losing his wife to a rap star, he’s reduced to begging for money from his old Hollywood pals.
"Star-ving," produced by FNB Entertainment and Sony Pictures TV, is created and exec produced by David Faustino, Corin Nemec, Todd Bringewatt and Sam Kass. Production is skedded to start later this fall, and series is targeted to bow on Crackle early next year.
Faustino projects marks the latest made-for-Web project from Sony TV, which is in the midst of a push to stock up Crackle with original comedy material featuring such as the "Dating Brad Garrett" series.
