Project is based on Amy Sutherland’s books "Kicked, Bitten and Scratched: Life and Lessons at the World’s Premier School for Exotic Animal Trainers" and "What Shamu Taught Me About Life, Love and Marriage."
Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky are penning the screenplay, centered on a fast-talking Los Angeles Times reporter and her laid-back comicbook artist husband who wants her to have a baby. When an assignment takes her to a school for exotic animal training, she discovers a possible cure for her marriage problems.
"Kicked" is being produced by Michael Ohoven ("Capote") through his Infinity Films banner, Kristin Hahn ("The Departed") and Dana Adam Shapiro ("Murderball"). Kevin Turen and Henry Winterstern will exec produce.
Rottenberg and Zuritsky previously teamed on scripts for TV skeins "Army Wives," "Six Degrees" and "Sex and the City."
