Van Hecke, who starts immediately, joins from London-based Sprout Productions, the film and TV production company headed up by Stephen Fry and producer Gina Carter (“24 Hour Party People”).
In his new role within UPIE, Amsterdam-based Van Hecke will be responsible for DVD content acquisitions across all genres in the Benelux, reporting to Jerry Bellamy, acquisitions director, France/Benelux.
At Sprout, Van Hecke acted as head of development and production. Previously, Van Hecke worked in TV ads and as a producer at MTV Networks.
