Candidates game for World Series

McCain, Obama participate in Fox coverage

With less than two weeks before Election Day, presidential hopefuls John McCain and Barack Obama have agreed to participate in Fox's World Series coverage.

The candidates have recorded inspirational passages about America's Pastime from Martin Luther King, Jr., Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy which will be played during the broadcasts' opening segment. Each of those leaders spoke about baseball as a symbol of hope during trying national crises.

Wednesday night's Game One, however, will feature an intro narrated by actor Michael Douglas who, while not an aspirant for the Oval Office, played the commander-in-chief in Rob Reiner's 1995 feature, "The American President."
