Decision late Monday repped the Peacock's first back-nine pickup this season. Network's sibling Universal Media Studios is the producer.
"Knight Rider's" pickup wasn't a foregone conclusion. An update of the famed 1980s series, the new "Knight Rider" began as a highly rated TV movie last season, but hasn't fared as well since returning as a regular series.
"Knight Rider" has averaged a 2.4 rating and 7 share among adults 18-49 and 7.4 million viewers overall. Pickup comes as the show won its timeslot with young adults in its most recent airing, on Oct. 15.
Gary Scott Thompson, David Bartis, Doug Liman and Matt Pyken are exec producers of "Knight Rider." Justin Bruening, Deanna Russo, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Paul Campbell, Yancey Arias and Bruce Davison star.
