Walden purchases 'Tough Cookies'

Girl Scouts film picked up by Media co.

Walden Media has made a preemptive purchase of ``Tough Cookies,'' a script centered on life in the Girl Scouts by sisters Carley and Chelsea Steiner.

Project's set to be produced by Jordan Kerner (``Charlotte's Web'') with Kerner exec Ben Haber exec producing.

Story's centered on a judge ordering a deadbeat dad and his rebellious daughter's friends to form a scout troop. They then use their unconventional ways to compete against snobbish rivals to win a national scout competition.

The Steiner sisters also penned the screenplay ``Jelly'', centered on the world of belly dancing. That project's being produced by David Doerkson.

The sisters are represented by APA.
