Acquired by Corus Entertainment from CTVglobemedia, VIVA rebrands the analog Canadian Learning Television channel, available in five million households, and joins the Canuck media company's Cosmopolitan TV and W network to offer a range of dramas, films and lifestyle programming for women of all ages.
The new channel's fall lineup includes the Canuck preem of Brit hit four-parter "Lost in Austen," with each episode followed by a pic based on a novel by the 18th century author.
A slate of original programming is in production and will join the Viva's schedule early next year.
