SBIFF Exec Director Roger Durling singled out the thesp's recent work in Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" and Isabel Coixet's "Elegy."
Previous awardees have included Angelina Jolie (2008), Helen Mirren (2007), and Heath Ledger (2006).
The Santa Barbara Intl Film Festival unspools January 22-February 1.
