Red Wagon toppers Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher will produce, with Chris Chase exec producing.
Story, penned by Robert Rodat ("Saving Private Ryan"), is centered on an arrogant knight who's shrunk to 6 inches while assigned to protect a princess and then discovers what it means to be a real hero.
Warner Bros. is aiming to develop "Thumb" as a tentpole project with worldwide appeal. The Tom Thumb character originated in English folklore in the 16th century, while thumb-sized heroes have appeared in cultures throughout the world.
Lima's been pursued by several studios following the success of "Enchanted." He's attached to "Spook's Apprentice," a Warner-Legendary project set in the 1700s about a teenage boy training to be an exorcist (Daily Variety, March 19).
