Set Max bows in South Africa

Sony launches premium movie channel

JOHANNESBURG -- Sony Entertainment Television Asia launched its premium movie and special-events channel, Set Max, in South Africa on Oct. 1 on satcaster MultiChoice's DStv service as part of its Indian bouquet.

Set Max is the second Sony Entertainment Television channel to bow in South Africa. It targets the country's affluent, 1.2 million-strong Indian population.

Launched in 1999, the 24-hour Set Max airs on pay TV in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
