MySpace taps Vakili to head sales

Exec to head strategy, operations unit

MySpace has tapped Yahoo sales maven Valeh Vakili as senior VP of sales strategy and operations.

In the newly created position, Vakili will oversee the account management team and focus upon pricing, packaging and inventory management for the social networking site. She will be based in Gotham and report to Jeff Berman, prexy of sales and marketing.

Vakili began her career at Yahoo eight years ago. Most recently, as director of U.S. sales operations, she helped integrate the portal's search, display, Blue Lithium and Right Media sales teams.
