Euro awads show taps Danish host

STOCKHOLM -- Popular Danish TV personality Mikael Bertelsen will host the European Film Awards ceremony Dec. 6 in Copenhagen. The Dr. Big Band, a jazz orchestra that has played with the likes of Miles Davis, Van Morrison, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie and Manhattan Transfer, will perform.

Among the 1,500 guests at the awards ceremony will be Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary, Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Minister of Justice Brian Mikkelsen and European Union Commissioner Viviane Reding.

During the awards ceremony, which will be broadcast live to more than 40 countries, Judi Dench will be given a lifetime achievement award and Lars von Trier and the other three men behind the Dogma 95 movement will draw the nod for European Achievement in World Cinema.
