U.K.'s Momentum enlists 'Crew'

Thriller screens at Dinard Film Festival

LONDON — U.K. indie distrib Momentum Pictures has snapped up all U.K. and Irish rights to British crime thriller “The Crew.”

Based on the novel “Outlaws” by Kevin Sampson, the pic is an uncompromising thriller that explores the violent and hedonistic Liverpool underworld where organized gangs fight for control of the lucrative supply of narcotics.

Pic stars Scot Williams (“Backbeat”), Kenny Doughty (“Elizabeth”) Rory McCann (“Hot Fuzz”) and Stephen Graham (“This Is England”).

Film was directed by Adrian Vitoria (“Capital Punishment”) from a script he co-wrote with Ian Brady. Brady and Stephen Salter produce for Syndicate Films and Foundation Films.

Pic screens at the Dinard Film Festival later this week and is skedded to open theatrically in Blighty in January.
