CJ Entertainment's " Weapon" continued to draw audiences, with 215,000 admissions or $1.1 million from 439 screens. To date, the historical epic has grossed $17.9 million from 3,322,000 admissions.
The Guillermo Del Toro-helmed actioner "Hellboy 2: The Golden Army" also opened and captured fourth place with 209,000 admissions or $1.1 million from 355 screens.
Two local films that were released last weekend showed unexpected results. "Truck", a low-budget thriller produced and distributed by Sidus FNH ranked at No.3, with 243,000 admissions or $1.3 million from 337 screens for the four day run from Thursday to Sunday. Helmed by Kwon Hyung-jin ("For Horowitz",) pic portrays the death struggle of a truck driver with a ruthless murderer.
Similar results came from "My Dear Enemy," a vehicle for Cannes 2008 best actress winner Jeon Do-yeon. Released by Lotte Entertainment on Thursday, pic ranked at No.5 with a $1 million take from 201,000 admissions on 389 screens.
Another local title, "Rough Cut" finally passed 1 million ticket sales mark. Pic added 132,000 admissions or a $712,000 weekend take from 305 screens in its third weekend for a cume of $6 million from 1.12 million admissions to date.
