Aguilar will return to film sets as producer, including five pictures that he helped develop under Jimmy Miller's Mosaic label. Householter will take his first executive job after spending 25 years as an a.d., production manager and line producer.
Miller tapped Householter for the post after working with him on such comedies as "Elf" and "Step Brothers." Householter will get his first full producer credit alongside Miller and Eric Gold on the DreamWorks comedy "She's Out of My League."
Aguilar decided to return to producing after supervising the production of the Fox summer pic "What Happens in Vegas." Aguilar developed that laffer while partnered in Penn Station with scribe Dean Georgaris, and produced "Vegas" with Miller and Shawn Levy. Aguilar said he realized he preferred to focus on a smaller number of projects rather than steer a slate of more than two dozen Mosaic comedies.
Aguilar will make that transition by year's end, and will become producer on five Mosaic pictures that are nearing the starting line at Columbia: the Lee Eisenberg/Gene Stupnitsky-scripted comedy "Bad Teacher"; "Moon People," which James Bobin will direct from a script he wrote with Demetri Martin (who'll play a lead role); "Precious Few," written by director David Gordon Green and Danny McBride (who'll star); "Roadie," a Ben Best-scripted McBride starrer; and "13 O'Clock," a Shawn Harwell-scripted adaptation of James Stinson's children's book.
Aguilar will be non-exclusive to Mosaic, and will remain in Mosaic headquarters for the foreseeable future. He will separately produce the Breck Eisner-directed "The Crazies," a remake of the 1973 George Romero thriller.
