Untitled project, from Sony Pictures TV, revolves around a twentysomething man who starts taking a mood enhancer called Blisstilan. Snapped out of his funk by the drug, the lead character applies for a job at the pharmaceutical company.
Once there, he must navigate working for his new boss, a high-powered female exec who boasts the nickname "The Velvet Hammer."
Beyond "Aliens in America," Guarascio and Port were behind the recent NBC project "The I.T. Crowd." Their credits also include "Happy Family," "Just Shoot Me" and "Mad About You."
Meanwhile, Fox denied reports Thursday that frosh comedy "Do Not Disturb" had been canceled.
But the outlook for the show isn't good, and Fox has decided to preempt it next Wednesday, opting to run back-to-back episodes of "'Til Death" in the 9 p.m. hour.
"Do Not Disturb" averaged just a 1.3 rating/3 share on Wednesday.
