The current darling of the Arab film world, Labaki burst onto the scene last year with her directorial debut "Caramel." The $1.4 million pic, about a group of friends working in a Beirut beauty salon, went on to gross more than $10 million worldwide. Labaki, who started her career as one of the Arab world's most successful musicvid directors and also appeared in front of the cameras in hit 2006 pic "Bosta," is writing her sophomore project. She hopes to go into production on the Lebanon-set picture sometime next year.
