Actress will star as a commitment-phobic attorney who finds her well-constructed life coming apart at the seams when she rebuffs her ready-for-marriage boyfriend. Tapestry Films ("Wedding Crashers") is producing.
Film is based on the bestselling debut novel by Julie Buxbaum. Fox optioned the book in June and tapped Kara Holden to adapt.
Hathaway last worked with the studio on 2000’s "The Devil Wears Prada." Fox will release Hathaway’s upcoming comedy "Bride Wars," which was produced by Regency. The "Get Smart" star has two other films in the can: "Passengers" for Sony Pictures Releasing and "Rachel Getting Married" for Sony Pictures Classics.
Holden has several film projects in development around town, including Warner Bros.’ "Home School" and DreamWorks’ "How Opal Mehta Got Kissed, Got Wild and Got a Life."
