Wright's 'Soloist' to open AFI festival

Event runs from Oct. 30 to Nov. 9

Jamie Foxx stars as a schizophrenic musician in director Joe Wright's 'The Soloist.'

"The Soloist," starring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr., will open the 2008 AFI Los Angeles International Film Festival at ArcLight Hollywood's Cinerama Dome Theater on October 30.

The Opening Night Gala screening will also serve as the pics North American premiere. The film is scheduled to release on November 21.

The AFI Fest 2008 is presented by Audi and will run from October 30 - November 9.
