At Comedy Central's bash, "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were the only major talent on hand until a wave of black-tied Emmy attendees from "The Colbert Report" and "The Daily Show" arrived about 11 p.m.

Parker shrugged, saying that he and his collaborators only get invited to the "crappy Emmys" (the less-glam Creative Emmys) "because you can't have Cartman walking down the aisle to pick up the award (at the primetime show)." Parker added that he was at a Denver Broncos game while the Creative Emmys went down this year. At the game, he got a text saying, "We won." "I thought, 'How do they know we won? The game's not even over yet,' " Parker said. "And then I realized it was about the Emmy."

Stone, who might start attending the Emmys again next year, added, "I know this sounds immature, but this year was all about beating 'Family Guy.' "

West Hollywood's STK got crowded when Comedy Central regulars such as Sarah Silverman , Stephen Colbert and a slew of "Daily Show" talent showed: Jason Jones, John Oliver, Rob Riggle, Wyatt Cenac and John Hodgman were all in the house, but Jon Stewart was MIA. Things then reached a flashbulb-popping crescendo when Kanye West rolled in, dutifully posing for pics with execs including MTV Networks prexy Doug Herzog.
