Korea's 'Wind' blows to Japan

Drama will air from Sept. 24 to Nov. 27

SEOUL -- Korea's SBS Prods. has sold broadcast and DVD distribution rights to TV skein "Painter of the Wind" to Japan's Avex for about $2 million.

The drama, which will air in Korea from Wednesday to Nov. 27, is based on author Lee Jung-myeong's historical novel about real-life painter Shin Yun-bok, who was born in 1758. The 2007 novel suggests that Shin may have been a woman who hid her gender and chose to live as a man.

Moon Geun-young ("Dancing Princess") plays the painter

The $2 million price is among the highest for an SBS skein, according to SBS.
