Based on a script by Chuck Mondry, pic revolves around a spy from the Cold War era who comes out of retirement to team with a younger agent from the new school to confront a domestic terrorism threat orchestrated by Russia.
Pic will be produced by Michelle Manning ("The Eye"). David Greenblatt and Anthony Bagarozzi are also producing.
Mondry and Bagarozzi are screenwriting partners who sold their action-thriller spec "Tick-Tock" to Columbia Pictures for $1 million in 2000.
Black directed "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang," which Warner Bros. released in 2005. He’s best known for penning the first three "Lethal Weapon" pics and "The Last Boy Scout." He took a break from the biz after penning 1996’s actioner "The Long Kiss Goodnight."
Manning is producing "The Dirt," a biopic on rock band Motley Crue.
