Tyler Perry forms 34th Street Films

Matt Moore, former exec VP of production at Jinks/Cohen, will head the division; execs Poppy Hanks and Amber Rasberry join him. The trio will work from a Los Angeles office and report to Perry's HQ in Atlanta.
Moore also spent a decade at New Line and exec produced "Take the Lead," "Next Friday" and the two most recent "Final Destination" pics. Hanks served as VP of development at State Street Pictures while Rasberry has worked at New Line, Simmons Lathan Media Group and State Street.
In July Lionsgate signed Perry to a three-year first-look deal that calls for the distrib to handle at least three more Perry films after "Madea Goes to Jail," due out Feb. 20. Lionsgate has distribbed six Perry pics, including "The Family That Preys."
