Fest, which operates under the logo "bridging cultures, meeting minds," will host a special screening of Jeremy Gilley's feature-length doc "The Day After Peace" in support of the U.N. Intl. Day of Peace Initiative.
Screening will be held under the patronage of Princess Haya, wife of Dubai ruler Sheik Mohammed al-Maktoum.
Princess Haya was recently named a U.N. messenger of peace.
Doc features figures such as Jude Law, Angelina Jolie, the Dalai Lama and Kofi Annan discussing Gilley's decade-long efforts to establish a globally recognized annual day of non-violence and ceasefire. "The Day After Peace" ends with Gilley and Law traveling to Afghanistan as part of a vaccination drive against polio in the country.
Fest organizers are in discussions to bring some of the pic's featured personalities to this year's fifth edition, which unspools Dec. 11-18.
Announcement of the special screening came Sunday, which is this year's Peace Day.
"In modern times like these, where practically anything is possible, it is our responsibility as human beings to strive for the greater good of human kind," said fest chairman Abdulhamid Juma. "We must do what we can for the well being of people of all ages, genders and races."
