Roth will augment the company's legal and business affairs division, which previously consisted of one executive, Bill Weiner, who will continue in his capacity as exec VP and will concentrate solely on legal affairs.Former Paramount Vantage executive Amy Israel recently joined the company as exec VP of production, while chairmen Robert Harper and Hutch Parker established a New York office and hired Michelle Kroes to scour the literary community for potential movie projects.
By expanding the film division, Harper and Parker aim to elevate the quality level of material and filmmakers, with an increased emphasis on acquiring books and scripts that fit Regency's new mandate.
Roth most recently served as exec VP and co-head of business and legal affairs for the Weinstein Co., where he worked since its launch in October 2005. Roth also worked for more than six years at Miramax Films.
