Pryce plays the title role, an engineer who leaves the city for a small village only to be tempted back by a stranger five years later.
Recent legit credits for the thesp (“Brazil”) include “Glengarry Glen Ross” in London and “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” on Broadway.
Donmar associate director Douglas Hodge helms “Dimetos,” which runs March 19-May 9.
The Fugard offering joins a Donmar season that includes productions of T.S. Eliot’s “The Family Reunion” (part of an Eliot festival); “A Doll’s House,” starring Gillian Anderson; and August Strindberg’s “Creditors,” helmed by Alan Rickman.
Theater also has programmed a West End season, including the current “Ivanov” toplined by Kenneth Branagh. Hit “Piaf” is skedded to transfer to the West End next month, while the Donmar’s production of “Mary Stuart” plays Broadway in the spring.
