Webber pulls for laid-off bankers

Music man offers free ducats to musicals

Andrew Lloyd Webber wants to cheer up laid-off Brit bankers by offering free ducats to two of the composer-producer’s current West End tuners, “The Sound of Music” and “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Any bank employee now out of a job due to the turmoil in the global economy can, until Oct. 15, present his or her pinkslip (dated after Sept. 1) at the appropriate box office for a free pair of weeknight tickets.

Webber said he hopes the two “feel-good shows” will help the bankers buck up.
