Provissiero Entertainment will open its doors Monday. Provissiero, who has spent the past decade as an agent, has already signed several of his clients for his new company, including Liz Astrof ("Kath & Kim") and Victor Nelli ("Ugly Betty").
"While I'll always keep my eyes open for great new talent, my focus has evolved into building production companies for my clients," Provissiero said. "That's where I am headed."
Provissiero began his rep career as a TV lit agent, later dabbling with writer-performers, film scribes, thesps and authors.
Provissiero said he'd been pondering a career switch for years and had ongoing discussions with William Morris worldwide head of scripted TV Aaron Kaplan about making the change.
Kaplan said Provissiero's departure won't affect William Morris clients, who are handled by several agents simultaneously.
Provissiero has spent the past five years at William Morris, most recently as vice president. Before that, he spent five years at Kaplan Stahler Gumer Agency. He first trained under Chris Silbermann at BKWU (now a part of ICM).
Provissiero's clients through the years have included B.J. Novak and Mindy Kaling ("The Office"), David Hornsby ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"), "NCIS" co-creator Don McGill and Kit Boss ("King of the Hill"). He also handled Halle Berry's TV production business.
Beyond Astrof and Nelli, clients set to join Provissiero in his new venture include Jared Stern (co-managed by Helena Heyman), Randall Einhorn ("The Office"), Angela Nissel ("The Broke Diaries"), Breen Frazier ("Criminal Minds") and Adrienne Carter ("Everybody Hates Chris").
