Warner Bros., which made the announcement Wednesday, said Rogovin will report to Chairman & CEO Barry Meyer.
Rogovin will oversee more than 125 lawyers responsible for the company's negotiations, litigation, copyright and trademark, intellectual property and employment law. He'll also serve as an officer of the company, working with Meyer and Alan Horn as well as the other corporate officers on long-term growth strategies and business plans.
Rogovin was most recently a partner at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, where he helped build the firm's communications practice. Prior to that, he served between 2001-05 as FCC general counsel and worked on issues including the Internet, broadband, convergence and digital rights management.
Before that, he was a partner at O'Melveny & Myers and a deputy assistant Attorney General for the U.S. Department of Justice in its Civil Division, supervising 100 attorneys.
