Event to feature first LatAm film competition

Moving away from its longtime home on Copacabana Beach to a decidedly less scenic locale (a renovated warehouse in the city's port district), this year's Rio Market will nonetheless feature more to get excited about than just the traditional meetings and screenings.

Among the expected speakers are top acquisitions and other execs from Paramount, Pathe, Fox and BBC Films. Rio Market will also see the inaugural Latin American Feature Film Competition, awarding 12 young filmmakers the chance to pitch their projects.
