'Parking' to open Golden Horse

Surreal adventure opened Un Certain Regard

HONG KONG -- “Parking” will open the Taiwan Golden Horse Film Festival on Nov. 6.

Helmed by local director Chung Mong-hong, pic is the surreal adventure of a divorced man searching for the owner of a car that is double parked, preventing his exit -- and reunification with his wife.

“Parking” unspooled at Cannes’ Un Certain Regard sidebar this year.

Yang Li-zhou’s documentary “Conquer the North Pole” will be the Chinese-language closing film. “Paris,” by French helmer Cedric Klapisch, is the fest’s foreign-language closer.

Event runs Nov. 6-21.
