Stein will oversee the NBC Universal-based shingle's nonscripted series development. BermanBraun exec Matt Hanna, who had been overseeing nonscripted activities, will now focus exclusively on the series BermanBraun produces through its pact with Thom Beers' Original Prods. banner.
Working with nonscripted programming is new territory for Stein. He's spent the past eight years as a producer partnered with Nina Wass at ABC Studios, where they produced half-hours including "Less Than Perfect" and "The Geena Davis Show." Before that, Stein was head of comedy programming at CBS, where his track record included "Everybody Loves Raymond" and "The King of Queens."
"This is something I've never done before -- it's an incredible opportunity to learn something new," Stein told Daily Variety.
