Gina Wendkos will pen the adaptation of the book that revolves around three young women who each vow to change their entire lives for the better in the course of the next year. Pic will focus and expand upon one of the three storylines.
"Winston" is Weisberger’s third bestselling novel after "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Everyone Worth Knowing."
Tennant most recently helmed "Fool’s Gold" and the Will Smith comedy "Hitch."
Wendkos wrote the two "Princess Diaries" films for Disney.Mandalay prexy Cathy Schulman and senior VP Scarlett Lacey brought the book to Universal.
Company has Martin Campbell’s remake of "The Birds" also set up at U and Werner Herzog’s "The Piano Tuner" at Focus Features.
