D.P. Robert Jessup dies at 78

A member of the American Society of Cinematographers, his career spanned nearly 40 years. The New Jersey native attended Drake University and served in Korea in the U.S. Air Force.
Jessup then moved to Dallas where he began his career working as director of photography for both TV and features for 38 years. His credits include the television series "Dallas" and his features include two early Ron Howard films, "Cotton Candy" and "Skyward," Wes Craven's "Deadly Blessing," as well as Jackie Chan's first American Film "The Big Brawl."
Other feature credits include "Race with the Devil," "Split Image," "Silent Rage" and "A Small Town in Texas."
After retiring, he pursed painting in water colors and oils.
He is survived by two brothers and a sister.
