The Acad released the list to allow people working on similar technologies to submit claims of prior art or submit their own work for kudos consideration before the Sept. 16 deadline.
The Acad often recognizes several people or companies doing similar work at a single Scientific and Technical Awards ceremony.
The list includes Warner's Advanced Dialog Replacement System; underlying technologies for Digital Intermediate; Arrimax 18/12; and the Rhythm & Hues HDReye High Dynamic Range Digital Camera.
The Scientific and Technical Awards will be presented at the Beverly Wilshire on Feb. 7.
The Motion Picture Academy has announced that the following scientific achievements are under consideration for Scientific and Technical Awards. The deadline for submissions of similar technologies is Sept. 16:
