Set to be presented by Douglas on Oct. 2 at a gala dinner in Santa Barbara, the event will feature a tribute to Harris and a look at his many performances.
"Ed Harris is an actor's actor," says Roger Durling, the fest's exec director. "His already legendary performances are passionate, thoughtful and so committed - qualities that he shares with Kirk Douglas."
Harris's next feature, "Appaloosa," which he also helms, is set for release this fall.
The fest will run Jan. 22 through Feb. 1, 2009.
