Vancouver announces two programs

Dragons & Tigers will consist of 47 features, 5 mid-length films and 23 shorts including Zhao Ye's "Jalainur," Heiward Mak's "High Noon" and Kitano Takeshi's "Achilles and the Tortoise." During the program, a young filmmaker will be presented with the annual Dragons & Tigers Award For Young Cinema, which includes a $10,000 prize for the winning director.
The Cinema of our Time series will present a wide selection of films from all over the world with particularly strong showings from Italy, Germany, Mexico and the US. Notable selections include Lance Hammer's "Ballast," Ryan Fleck's "Sugar," Francisco Franco's "Burn the Bridges" and Tom Quinn's "The New Year Parade."
The Vancouver International Film Festival takes place from Sept 25 to Oct 10.
