Landon to write, direct 'Palms'

Segal, Prince, Hewitt to produce dark comedy

"Disturbia" scribe Christopher Landon will make his directorial debut with the indie dark comedy "Burning Palms," which he penned.

What's described as a subversive tale interlaces five stories set in Los Angeles, where no taboo is left unexplored as each character careens toward a dark and often comic fate.

Oren Segal, Steven Prince and Jason Hewitt are producing, and Tyler Thompson, Vince Morella, and Nas Jafri exec produce. Hewitt's company, Films in Motion, arranged the financing.

Principal photography will begin the first week of October in Los Angeles.

Landon, a writer on ABC skein "Dirty Sexy Money," recently completed "The Flock" for Warner Bros. and has a pair of projects set up at Rogue, including a "Near Dark" remake.
