Pub's portfolio includes biweekly the Advocate, fashion mag Out and Alyson Books.
With the acquisition, Regent has added video broadcasting to Advocate.com, just in time for the Democratic National Convention. The news team will include former CNN'er James Hattori.
Jon Barrett, editor-in-chief of the Advocate, called the publication's newly amped-up staff "the best team in gay news."
