ACT to stage 'Rock N' Roll'

Felciano to star in West Coast production

Extending a partnership with the Brit playwright that stretches back more than a decade, American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco will stage the West Coast premiere of Tom Stoppard’s “Rock ‘n’ Roll,” with Manoel Felciano (“Sweeney Todd”) in the lead role.

Directed by ACT topper Carey Perloff and running Sept. 11-Oct. 12, the play is being presented in association with Boston’s Huntington Theater Company, where it will transfer in November.

Set between Cambridge and Prague, Stoppard’s drama covers three decades of social and political unrest, centering on a rock-obsessed Czech graduate student. Also in the cast are ACT acting company members Rene Augesen, Anthony Fusco, Jud Williford and Jack Willis.
