Joan Hyler in stable condition

Producer recovering from injuries

Six days after she suffered severe injuries in a car accident, manager-producer Joan Hyler has been upgraded to stable condition at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Hyler's condition is stable and her vital signs are good, a spokesman for Hyler confirmed Thursday. The industry vet was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center in critical condition Friday night after being hit by a passing car on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. She suffered numerous severe injuries from the collision and lost a significant amount of blood.

Hyler was skedded to have surgery on Friday to have a pin inserted in one leg. She underwent another surgical procedure on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the Endeavor talent agency held a blood drive in its screening room in response to UCLA's call for Hyler's friends and associates to help replenish the hospital's blood supply after Hyler required 40 units of blood in her initial hours at the hospital.

The daylong initiative yielded 61 units of blood from 82 donors, Hyler's family reported on the hospital's web page devoted to updates on her condition. Donations may also be made in Hyler's name through UCLA Medical Center (for details go to www.gotblood.ucla.edu).

Joan Hyler Management reps a range of thesps including Diane Lane, Eric McCormack, Alfred Molina and Amber Tamblyn. A former top agent at WMA and ICM, Hyler is a past prexy of Women in Film.
