MGM will present the Academy's Margaret Herrick Library with still photography, publicity materials and paper documents related to MGM/United Artists pics.
Academy prexy Sid Ganis and Harry Sloan, chairman-CEO of MGM, were both on hand at a special signing ceremony.
"We greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with MGM on preserving these important archives," Ganis said. "And we look forward to sharing it with future generations of filmmakers and historians."
Sloan credited the Academy's library, founded in 1928, with "protecting and exhibiting a number of valuable collections."
