'House Bunny' writers hop to ABC

Network buys script from McCullah Lutz, Smith

ABC Studios has purchased a script from "House Bunny" scribes Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith for possible development into an autobiographical series about the writing duo's colorful lives.

The scribes say the deal came about following an L.A. Times article that detailed their unique working style, which can involve a bottle of Leclerc Briant and a poolside deck.

The pair will pen the pilot and stay on as consulting producers should the project gain traction.

Beyond Sony's "The House Bunny," which opens Friday, the duo's credits also include debut film "10 Things I Hate About You" and "Legally Blonde." They also scripted Sony's upcoming romantic comedy "The Ugly Truth," which stars Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler.
