Turgoose, who came to the fore as a plucky young skinhead in Shane Meadows’ “This Is England” and turned heads as a runaway in Meadows’ “Somers Town,” again plays a troubled teen in “Scouting Book,” which is about a boy who helps a girl run away from home.
Jack Thorne (“Skins”) has written the screenplay for the pic, which is produced by Christian Colson and Ivana Mackinnon from Celador Films, which finances alongside Film4 and regional screen agency Screen East.
Susan Lynch and newcomer Holliday Grainger also star. Further casting is underway.
