Across from convention venue the Pepsi Center, the Starz Green Room will feature screenings of politically oriented films, panel discussions and an online film competition, among other events geared to convention attendees. Starz Entertainment has partnered with the Denver Film Society, SeaChange Communications and the Impact Film Festival to provide programming for the event.
Other celebrities expected include Daryl Hannah, Rosario Dawson, Kerry Washington, Kal Penn, Hill Harper, Stuart Townsend and Will.i.am, along with politicos Barbara Boxer, Blanche Lincoln, Kent Conrad, Diana DeGette, Barney Frank and Ray Nagin. Others set to show up include Arianna Huffington, Jonathan Alter, John Podesta, Walter Isaacson, Dennis Prager, Patrick Creadon, Tia Lessin, Carl Deal, Chris Moore, Morgan Spurlock and Hilary Rosen.
Among the films to be screened are "Battle in Seattle," which features Theron and is written and directed by Townsend, and "Robert Kennedy Remembered." The RFK film was shown at the 1968 convention, shortly after his assassination, and won an Oscar for director Charles Guggenheim. The screening will be introduced by his children Davis and Grace Guggenheim, and members of the Kennedy family are expected to be in attendance.
