Brit Ian Rickson, also set this season to direct the Broadway transfer of his London staging of "The Seagull," helms "Hedda" in a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn ("Dying City").
Last Gotham stage credit for Parker ("Weeds") was "Dead Man's Cell Phone" at Playwrights Horizons in the spring. Her most recent Rialto gig was the Manhattan Theater Club revival of "Reckless" in 2004. Thesp won a Tony in 2001 for her role in "Proof."
Perennial revival candidate "Hedda" was last seen on Broadway in a 2001 production that starred Kate Burton, although a recent notable production, starring Cate Blanchett, played the Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2006. Roundabout last produced "Hedda" on the Rialto in 1994.
Rickson ("The Weir") is the former a.d. of London's Royal Court Theater, which has staged several Shinn plays, including the upcoming preem "Now or Later."
No further casting for "Hedda" has been announced. Production begins previews Jan. 6 ahead of a Jan. 25 opening at the American Airlines Theater, where "A Man for All Seasons" starring Frank Langella will play this fall.
